1000 names of lord Vishnu (Sahasra nama) with meaning

Lord vishnu
The Vishnusahasranama (translating literally to “the thousand names of Vishnu”) is a list of 1,000 names  of Hindu supreme God for followers of Vishnu. It is also one of the most sacred and commonly chanted sthotras in Hinduism. Reference this post if you are looking for baby names meaning Vishnu.
Origins: The Vishnusahasranama as found in the Anushasana Parva (149th chapter) of the Mahabharata. Another version exists in the Padma Purana and Matsya Purana. Each name eulogizes one of His countless great attributes.
The names were handed down to Yudhisthira by Bhishma who was on his death bed (of arrows) in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Yudhisthira asks Bhishma the following questions.
In this universe Who is the one refuge for all? Who is the greatest Lord  in the world ?   By worshiping  whom can a person reach auspiciousness , peace and prosperity? What   is the Greatest Dharma of all Dharmas?
As a response to these questions,  Bhisma answers by stating that mankind will be free from all sorrows by chanting the “Vishnusahasranāma”.
